Ishaq is a current PhD candidate at Hazara University Mansehra, Pakistan. He is currently at The University of Western Australia, School of Biological Sciences as visiting Researcher.

Current Projects

His current project focuses on association mapping for economically important traits in Brassica juncea. In Batley’s Lab initially he has isolated DNA of 330 Brassica juncea lines. Currently the phenotypic screening with L. maculans isolates is underway to look at qualitative & quantitative resistance with lesion scoring on cotyledons. Then Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNIP chip) as markers will be used to conduct a population diversity study.
