Jinwen "Jojo" Fan

Jinwen or "Jojo" obtained her Bachelors degree in Animal Science at Sichuan Agricultural University in 2018. She did internships in the molecular laboratory of Sichuan Agricultural University from 2016 to 2018 and at the Chengdu Institute of Biology from 2015 to 2018, Chinese Academy of Science.

She is currently doing her Masters degree in Agricultural Science of Genetics and Breeding at The University of Western Australia, and she joined Batley lab in 2021 because of her interest in CRISPR-related breeding techniques. She has been self-taught in painting since 2018 and has been learning about art knowledge and techniques from friends in Sculpture of the Imperial Academy of Arts and the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Graphic Design.

Research Interests

Genomics, Genetics and Breeding, Biological Art, Resistance genes, Molecular Biology.

Current Projects

Detecting the masking effects between two Blackleg AvrLm genes and Canola (Brassica napus)
