My Story

I completed my Master's degree in Vegetable Science from Northwest A&F University. My previous research centred on vegetable physiology and breeding using exogenous treatments combined with molecular biotechnology. During my Master’s, our group mainly focused on unravelling molecular mechanisms of fungal disease resistance in watermelon using genome-editing tools like CRISPR/Cas9. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD at Batley Lab to explore more about the role of hormones, such as melatonin and JA, in inducing resistance against the fungal pathogen Leptosphaeria maculans.
