My Story

During my Bachelor’s studies at Shenzhen University, I had the opportunity to work closely with a post-doctoral researcher on enhancing peanut traits through gene editing. This collaborative effort ultimately transitioned into commercial applications, resulting in well-bred, high-quality peanuts. This experience sparked my fascination with crop breeding and its potential for real-world impact. Then, I pursued my Master’s degree at the City University of Hong Kong, where I joined Dr. LAM Hiu Wai Raymond’s lab and gained valuable engineering knowledge. To further my research in gene breeding, I realized the importance of deepening my expertise in genomics, leading me to choose Batley Lab for advanced study and research.
